Mars Authentic Leadership Development Programme

In 2011 In Good Company were approached by Mars to design and deliver a 6 month experiential Leadership Development Programme for their talent pool of middle managers. The programme was piloted in the UK and was an instant hit with the delegates. Plans are in place to extend the programme across Europe and bring a truly international community together for 2013.

Mars needs were clear: 

  • Accelerate the development of their talent pool
  • Develop self awareness
  • Encourage the discovery of "Authentic Leadership" Styles
  • Build leadership competencies such as, Standing Alone, Perspective, Critical Thinking, Command Skills, Impact and Prescence
  • Take people outside of their comfort zone


In Good Company worked closely with Mars and designed the program incorporating

  • Development Plan reviews
  • 1 Day 'command skills' experience at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
  • 1 week "Apprentice Style" Challenge
  • 3 separate "deep dive"  Development Days each focused around a different topic
  • 6 sessions of 1:1 coaching throughout the program 
  • Peer Support Groups
  • Mentoring

By the end of the program 3 of the delegates had been promoted and a step up had been recognised in all of the delegates. The delegates themselves described the programme as a once in a lifetime opportunity. Please read our testimonials.
