University Of Birmingham

"Bounding Out"

In Good Company are proud to be partnering with the University of Birmingham to help prepare their Year in Industry Students for their upcoming work placements and to help develop their Employability Skills

The University of Birmingham was looking for a way to reach out to students to help them to be successful in the Work Placements applications, interviews and throughout their time in Industry. It was important for the University to equip undergraduates with the skills necessary to secure relevant, fulfilling placements and to use the opportunity to develop their careers.

The Univeristy found it challenging to reach all of the students they needed to due to timetable challenges and availability of students throughout the year. After meeting with the University and hearing about their needs and challenges In Good Company proposed running a one day bootcamp. This bootcamp would cover needs such as:

  • Understanding yourself and others
  • Problem Solving and Decision making
  • Building Resilience
  • Developing your network

The Bootcamp will take 80 students through a number of exercises in an interactive, adult learning experience and will culminate in a networking dinner where employers and students will meet and students will practise their newly discovered networking skills.
